Geraldton Residential College has a proud tradition of caring for secondary students from all over Western Australia for the past 80 years.
The residential college is one of the most modern residential facilities in the State following a $5.4 million redevelopment in 2001. The redevelopment has provided an environment that allows students to live in a shared living facility but gives them privacy when needed. Students have high quality, airconditioned single room accommodation designed to meet their need for security, privacy, storage and a quiet, well-appointed place to complete their schoolwork.
The residential college provides students with the opportunity to achieve their education, training and career goals in a supportive social environment. The link between the residential college and its Partner Schools is excellent with extended support offered to our students. The mixing of students who attend either State or private schools is a complementary one with support for one another demonstrated on a regular basis.
Students live in an environment that supports their educational, social and recreational needs. This is demonstrated by the availability of computer rooms and specific study areas, the provision of tutors, strong relationships with all of the Partner Schools, and involvement with school councils and other educational institutions.
Care of the students is the number one priority for the Geraldton Residential College staff. The philosophy of the residential college is to create a happy caring environment that leads to students doing well at school and becoming good community members. Our staff do everything possible to support students to achieve these goals. An appropriate balance of empathy, understanding and discipline is used to support students. Our motto is “We Care” and everything we do is focused on the care and support of your child.
