Merredin is a thriving regional centre in the Eastern Wheatbelt, situated 260kms east of Perth on the major road and rail link to Kalgoorlie and eastern Australia. Set in landscaped gardens, the Merredin Residential College is in close proximity to the senior high school, township and community sporting facilities. Facilities include accommodation for up to 70 students, a semi-heated swimming pool and sizeable indoor and outdoor recreational areas, as well as a computer network. Students are encouraged to participate in social and educational activities and tutors are available to help them with their studies.
The partnership of Merredin Residential College and Merredin Senior High School offers an exceptional service, providing an opportunity for students from remote areas to live and learn together and to forge lifetime friendships. Merredin Senior High School offers Agricultural Studies, Vocational and TEE subjects with an Access and Bridging Course, and support is provided for students with learning difficulties and for gifted and talented students.
