Audit and Quantification of Teacher Workloads in WA Public Schools (2011)

This project, undertaken by Shelby Consulting, gathered information on teacher workloads and workload issues in response to Clause 57 of the School Education Act Employees’ (Teachers and Administrators) General Agreement 2008.

Aboriginal Literacy Strategy - Executive Summary (2010)

The purpose of the project was to evaluate the Aboriginal Literacy Strategy (ALS) with a view to assessing the extent to which it has been successful in improving the English language and literacy outcomes of Aboriginal students in remote community schools. The project was undertaken by the Australain Council for Education Research (ACER).

Early Intervention Conductive Education Trial at Carson Street School (2010)

This report presents the results of an evaluation of the Early Intervention Conductive Education Program at Carson Street School.

Vocational Education and Training in Western Australian Schools (2009)

This report presents the results of an evaluation of vocational education and training in schools (VETiS). The purpose of the evaluation was to critically examine trends in the use of VETiS, assess its effectiveness as a suite of programs, and identify issues and areas where it can be improved.

Single Gender Classroom Trial (2009)

The Single Gender Classroom Trial was conducted in five secondary schools in Western Australia from 2006 to 2008.

Middle Schooling in Western Australian Public Schools (2008)

In 2008 the Department completed a three-year, longitudinal evaluation which critically investigated the effects of 'middle schooling' in WA public schools on a broad range of school and student outcomes.

Evaluation of the Curriculum Improvement Program Phase 2 (2006)

An independent evaluation commissioned by the Department of Education and Training and the State School Teachers’ Union of WA to review the implementation of the Curriculum Improvement Program – Phase 2. The evaluation was conducted by a research team from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Western Australia led by Professor Bill Louden.
