Winner of two Caldecott Medals, Chris Van Allsburg is considered to be one of the greatest children's book illustrators. His books are unique, intriguing and mysterious. The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, one of Van Allsburg's most captivating and imaginative books, has been republished in 2000 and is available in Australia. Chris grew up in Michigan, USA and began his artistic life as a sculptor.

Author and artist, Elizabeth Vercoe lives in Melbourne. Her first book, Keep Your Hair On!, a novel based on her own experiences with cancer was published in 2003. The Grief Book: Strategies for Young People shortlisted for the 2005 Eve Pownall Award for Information Books is her second book. Julie Vivas - Australian Illustrator

Since her first illustrated book for children, The Tram to Bondi Beach, written by Libby Hathorn was Highly Commended in the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Picture Book of the Year Award of 1981, almost every title Julie Vivas has produced has won acclaim from adults and children. She is not afraid to tackle controversial subjects for children as is shown in the down-to-earth holy family and the Angel Gabriel in work boots in The Nativity, and Hello Baby showing the birth of said baby.
