Intellectual property rights
All materials embodied by MacquarieNet, including but not limited to, sound recordings, musical works, literary works and artistic works are protected by copyright.
In order to protect Macquarie’s intellectual property rights in MacquarieNet, the authorised user will not, and will not allow or cause a third party, to use the whole or any part of MacquarieNet to assist in the development of a similar or competitive product or otherwise use MacquarieNet except as permitted by law or provided in these Licence Conditions.
The authorised user must take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorised use or access to MacquarieNet. Such measures include but are not limited to prevention of access to MacquarieNet from school computers by students and staff who are not authorised users.
Macquarie warrants and undertakes that the Licence Fee includes all copyright fees payable by the authorised users in respect of all uses of copyright material available on MacquarieNet which are permitted by these Licence Conditions.
Any material posted on MacquarieNet by an authorised user in which Crown copyright exists remains the subject of Crown copyright, and no copyright in that material is by that posting transferred to Macquarie.
Caching
Users are not permitted to actively cache any pages of MacquarieNet on a local server, other than passive, temporary caching that occurs in the course of normal internet use.
Users may not mirror pages from MacquarieNet, including results pages, on other Internet or Intranet sites.
Uploading content onto MacquarieNet
There is a facility for schools to upload content onto MacquarieNet. In doing so, the following guidelines must be followed:
- You may not identify any students by their full name;
- You may not post material that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others, nor post inappropriate material; and
- You must use appropriate language.

Liability
Macquarie does not warrant the truth, accuracy, reliability and/or completeness of the information contained on MacquarieNet.
Breach of licence
If an individual authorised user breaches any of the Licence Conditions outlined in this document, access by that particular authorised user may be suspended or terminated by MacquarieNet.
Audit
Macquarie may audit the use of MacquarieNet so as to monitor compliance with the MacquarieNet Licence Conditions.
