Welcome to library services

If you would like to take advantage of the following Library services you must first become a member of the Library by completing the application form [doc] and returning it to the Library either by fax (9264 4954) or by email: library@det.wa.edu.au.

 

The collection

The library collection consists of a specialist collection in primary and secondary teaching practices, education, curriculum, vocational education, training and employment, and also includes resources on:
  • Administrative and management practices.
  • Information management.
  • Open learning and flexible delivery.
  • Psychology and counselling.
  • Professional and personal development.

General Loans

You can borrow EIGHT items at a time for a period of 4 weeks for books and videos and 2 weeks for journals. You have the option to renew if the item has not been requested by another borrower. To request an item please email the library: library@det.wa.edu.au. Items must be returned or renewed on or before the due date. The date is stamped in the back of each item.

Interlibrary Loans/Document Delivery

We can borrow items and request copies of journal articles from other libraries on your behalf through the Interlibrary Loans/Document Delivery system. These loans must be work related. All borrowers are responsible for the safekeeping and prompt return of items. Borrowing privileges may be suspended for failure to return, or mistreatment of, borrowed items. To request an interlibrary loan please complete the Interlibrary loan form [MS Word] and either fax (9264 4954) or email it to the library: library@det.wa.edu.au.

Current Contents Bulletin

The Current Contents Bulletin lists the contents pages of selected journals held in the library. It is put on the Current Contents page at the beginning of each month. If you would like a photocopy of any of the articles listed, please fill out the Photocopy Form [MS Word] and fax it to the library.

What's New

What's New is a fortnightly news alert that lists the new acqusitions in the library, gives links to new VET related internet sites and reports, and gives details of forthcoming conferences and seminars.

Subject Bibliographies

We can compile subject bibliographies for you from the resources within the collection. You will need to specify keywords to be used in our search for the information and you will need to write all the relevant details on the Subject Bibliography form [MS Word]. To request a Subject Bibliography please complete the Subject Bibliography form and either fax (9264 4954) or email it to the library: library@det.wa.edu.au.
