Employee Support Services

Personal or work pressures in our lives can affect the way we are able to perform our duties and interfere with our enjoyment of our jobs.

No one is going to expect you to be able to cope with everything in your new job from day one, particularly if it is your first full-time job. It will be assumed that you might need some support and help. Starting a new job, particularly in a new location such as a country town, places you in two of the greatest recognised stress situations. Homesickness, for instance, can be very real and debilitating. Understanding this and taking appropriate steps to deal with your problems if you find it all a bit overwhelming is the best thing to do.

A range of strategies is in place to assist every educator in the State to deal with personal problems and pressures. In fact a whole branch is dedicated to providing services to support you in your work.

The goal of the Employee Support Services branch is to support schools and district offices to provide a safe working environment for all employees and to minimise the occurrence and impact of workplace injuries.
