ABOUT THE COLLEGE Denmark is 400 kilometres south of Perth on the South Coast in a 900mm rainfall area The College campus is 2 kilometres from the town and has a residential facility that provides secure individual room accommodation for 80 male and female Year 11 and 12 students. It also has a state-of-the-art recreational centre, that provides for all-weather recreation. While the majority of students are residential, there are a number of day students, and a bus service is provided to and from Albany. Courses running in Denmark cover a variety of subjects including Viticulture, Metals & Engineering, Small Business Management, Plant and Animal Production and Marketing; Aquaculture, Horticulture, Landcare and Forestry; as well as the traditional classroom subjects such as English, Maths, and Computing. Equine Studies were introduced in 2007. Students have the opportunity to attend and participate in a wide variety of agricultural shows, both in Western Australia and interstate. Students also have the option of a stream of study focused on trades and vocational training. The College has conducted regular excursions across Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Victoria and Tasmania, and competes in many agricultural shows, including the Perth Royal Show.Denmark's location on the coast makes it ideal for surfing, scuba diving and other water sports.
