Morawa Morawa is 360 kilometres north of Perth in a 325 mm rainfall area and enrols students in Year 10, 11 and 12. The College campus has modern residential facilities and accommodation is provided for 67 male and female students. The 3,240 hectare farm has a 1,000 ha broad-acre cropping program as well as sheep, pigs, beef cattle (Gelbvieh stud), poultry (for egg production) and a small horticulture section. In addition to their classroom activities all students participate in a range of specialist programs offered to Certificate ll level in Agriculture, Automotive and Metals and Engineering. In 2011 the college is introducing a Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure Operations. In the final year of their course, students may elect to specialise their agricultural studies in the areas of Beef Cattle Production, Sheep and Wool Production or Pig Production. These programs combined with classroom studies enable students to achieve secondary graduation and also have the option of university entrance and/or careers in a range of practical areas including the mining industry.
