Welcome > Screening of existing workforce project Screening of the Existing Workforce ProjectIn August 2005 the Department commenced a project to screen all current employees including those in TAFE Colleges. Catholic and Independent Schools participated in the project This screening is not applicable to new applicants selected for employment in the Education Sector. All those existing employees required to be screened as part of this project will be notified by personal letter in due course, if not already. The screening of all non-teaching education staff will commence in February 2006 and the Project is expected to be completed in May this year. As a result of this Project, Regulations to the Act allow this particular screening to serve as part of the phasing in requirement for Working With Children checks of employees until 2008, when the 3 year Working With Children checking cycle will commence.
