Overseas students who wish to study at TAFEWA need to contact Education and Training International. Our Fact Sheet No: 3 contains general information for international students. Not sure if  you are an international or overseas student then it is worth checking your status in the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 this site will also provide you with a range of  information

University:

Registered Training Providers (RTO):

The Australian Government has a system of registration for training providers to make sure that vocational education & training in Australia is of the highest standard. Only RTOs can deliver nationally recognised training, so their training will be recognised anywhere in Australia.

RTOs offer a range of qualifications & training; including short course & certificate / diploma courses.

To find out if a provider is registered you can visit the National Training Information System (NTIS) or contact the CDC.

If you wish to become a Training Provider go to www.tac.wa.gov.au which explains how to become a RTO.

Short Courses:

Short Courses provided by RTO, ,are generally aimed at providing you with a specific skill or knowledge. They range from forklift tickets through to minute taking. For details of providers of these course please contact the CDC directly.  Please note some Industry Training Advisory Boards (ITAB) can assist with training programs and skills recognition, for further details visit our on-line tools section.

Apprenticeships & Traineeships:

Fact Sheet 2 Apprenticeships & Traineeships

Apprenticeships & Traineeships are available in most industries; they provide a great opportunity to study while you are getting paid.

Not quite ready to step into the workforce, then a School Based Traineeships or a School Apprenticeship Link (SAL) maybe the answer, it allows you to work towards secondary graduation & prepare yourself for a career in the workforce. Visit ApprentiCentre for more information.

There are six Senior colleges & campuses in Western Australia which provide the opportunity for students to study a range of programs including TEE, Flying Start & Certificate Courses.
