The Department currently operates the following programs for the funding of training delivery:

 


2009 Aboriginal school Based Training Program ETG F08/0020353

Applications are invited from Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to apply for placement on a Preferred Provider Panel to deliver specific Certificate I courses for the Aboriginal School Based Training (ASBT) preparatory program in metropolitan and regional locations across Western Australia.

This Call for Applications (CFA) is aimed at providing opportunities for Aboriginal students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to start training in school to gain a qualification, sustainable employment or go onto further education or training. 
Applications must be completed using the RTONet On-Line Tender Application, available at https://stars.det.wa.edu.au/RTONet.

The closing date/time for applications is Midnight (WST) Friday 21 November 2008

Applicants will be notified of the outcome within four weeks from the close of applications.

2009 MasterCLASS POST TRADE TRAINING PROGRAM ETG F08/0016081

Applications are invited from Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver MasterCLASS post trade training training under Stage 1 of the 2009 MasterCLASS program.   

The aim of MasterCLASS program is to encourage existing tradespeople to achieve higher skill levels and provide a new incentive for apprentices and young tradespeople to strive for excellence.

Applications must be completed using the RTONet On-Line Tender Application, available at https://stars.det.wa.edu.au/RTONet .

The closing date/time for applications is Midnight (WST) Thursday 20 November 2008

Access Program

The Access program funds Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver nationally and State recognised training programs to clients from one or more of the following equity target groups:

  • Aboriginals/Torres Strait Islanders
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse
  • Disabled
  • Mature Aged (45+)
  • People not adequately engaged in the workforce
  • Youth at Risk

Training programs proposed under the Access program must be customised to meet the specific needs of each distinct client group and, where appropriate, have a high degree of community involvement and support.

ETG F08/0005023 Stage 2

Stage 2 of Call for Applications ETG F08/0005023 will open on 1st January 2009 and will remain open until 30th September 2009. Details of the Stage 2 application process will be available from this website from 1st January 2009.

Indigenous Training Support (ITS) Program

The Indigenous Training Support (ITS) program has been developed to enhance training and employment outcomes for Indigenous people in regional and remote areas of Western Australia. The ITS program is jointly funded by the Western Australian Department of Education and Training and the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training.

The ITS program funds Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and not-for-profit Group Training Organisations (GTOs) - working in partnership with community-based organisations and employers - to co-ordinate the provision of support services for associated training programs to Indigenous clients. Initiatives should be based on partnerships that involve local industry contributions, whereby companies directly benefit from increased work skills of Indigenous participants.

2009 Indigenous Training Support (ITS) program

Discussions about the format of the 2009 ITS program are now taking place between the State and the Federal Government. As a consequence, the 2009 program will not be advertised until late January 2009.    

Critical Skills Program

The Critical Skills program was developed to provide funding to private Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for the delivery of training that meets Critical Skills shortages.
